• Slow down in school zones.

• Stop for school buses when their stop arm is extended — it’s the law.

• Stay alert for children crossing the road.

Sheriff Wayne Barton and his staff share their monthly activity report from around Campbell County. This morning, the sheriff is providing a summary of the month of August activity.

During the month of August 2025:

Calls for Service 681 (July 1,094)

Civil Process 195 (July 226)

Assisted Motorist 66 (July 129)

Property Checks 2,160 (July 2,415)

Citations 23 (July 36)

Incident Reports 24 (July 57)

Crash Reports 11 (July 18)

Funeral Escorts 28 (July 34)

Transports 31 (July 81)

There were 253 bags of litter picked up across 31 miles of Campbell County roads.
