Campbell County Rural Fire Service Firefighters battle a fire in sub-freezing temps with bitter winds

Though a garage was lost, a home was saved on Monday afternoon.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Around 2:30pm Monday, the garage of a home across from Valley View School caught fire. School dismissed earlier in the day due to the wintry weather.

Old Middlesboro Highway was temporarily shutdown so water hoses could be laid across the road to battle the blaze.

The garage that goes with the home across from the school was totally destroyed. However, aside from some minor damage to the home, the home was saved. No other homes were in danger.

Four CCRFS Units responded
