JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- At Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting, board members voted to give Campbell County High School Principal Ben Foust the go-ahead to privately raise funds and seek donations for a video board for the football field on the stipulation and understanding that the board of education would in no way contribute funding to the project. This was approved unanimously by the board.

Board Chairman Jeffrey Miller said he was going to make the motion, “just to follow through with policy on allowing the school to fundraise for a project like this.”

“Once they get their funding, they will come back to the board and we will bid it out because it is significantly large, when they have the funds secured, they will come back to the board,” Miller said.

The video board was discussed at length on December 8, 2025, at a school board athletic committee meeting. At that meeting, CCHS Principal Ben Foust told school board members that contrary to opinion, in no way was it going to be a “jumbotron” but rather ‘a very nice video board that we are hoping to do some community involvement with,” Foust said.

He said it would be a facility upgrade that could be used for movie nights, community events and multiple other events.

“We want to be able to bring it up there for Fields of Faith, a video board will do just like you can with an HDMI board, you can plug it up and play movies, show power points, do multiple things. We want to have guest speakers and invite the community out to have somewhere for them to be, for things to do.

At that December athletic committee meeting, Foust said the video board would be 24×12 foot and that $60,000 had been raised through “private donations.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-03/13/2026-6AM)
