CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF) – Two ordinances had a second reading last night at the Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen monthly meeting. Watch the meeting HERE on demand.
Ordinance 2021-03 modifying Title 18 of the Caryville Municipal Code was approved. The Tennessee Department of Environment and Conservation requires the Caryville-Jacksboro Utility Commission to make regular updates to plant protection criteria and local limits. This ordinance fulfills the requirement. Ordinance 2021-04 amending the annual operating budget for the fiscal year July 1, 2020-June 30, 2021 passed.
The town will begin to advertise for bids on installing a security system at the municipal building. Aldermen Vickie Heatherly suggested they install a glass door between the front office and the town recorder’s office for safety reasons. She also suggested extending the glass wall around the front office to the ceiling. Currently the glass goes up several feet and has a gap between the top edge and the ceiling.
