JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – Tuesday night was a special one for the Lady Cougars. After defeating their district-rival Karns for the sixth straight time, Carley Kitts was inducted into the Campbell County High School 1,000-point club.
Kitts was joined by her coaches and presented with a special ball and wrestling belt in honor of the impressive accomplishment.

Kitts, known for her sharpshooting abilities ever since she stepped onto John R. W. Brown Court as a freshman, racked up 1,019 points during her four years wearing the Orange-and-Blue. It was on her home court when she eclipsed the millennium mark with her first bucket of the final game last season against Hardin Valley in the opening round of the regional tournament. The Lady Cougars season ended that night, 50-44, with Kitts delivering one of her best performances.
Her head coach and father, Jason Kitts, said, “I’m proud of what she’s accomplished. She went out and played ball; and when you do little things right and stay consistent, then good things happen.”
Carley said, “One thousand points is one goal I always hoped I would reach and even though I am not playing anymore, I’m grateful I got to finish my career accomplishing that goal.”
She went on to say that her favorite memory throughout her time on The Hill was the Christmas Tournament in Pensacola, Florida, her senior year.
Now that Kitts’s high school career is finished, she plans to attend college and study early education.
After many “Splashes” and lots of “Chaaa-chingssss”, Carley Kitts is the newest member of the 1,000-point club at Campbell County High School.
