There were no injuries as fire destroyed a vehicle on Sunday.

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- Between the two Caryville exits, 134 and 141, a car caught fire on I-75 Sunday afternoon. “The fire was at mile marker 137 on the northbound side,” said Caryville Volunteer Fire Department Chief Eddie Hatmaker.

The call of the car fire came in at 5:24 Sunday afternoon with firefighters from the CVFD responding with assistance from the Jacksboro Fire Department.

The area of interstate where firefighters staged was in a six-lane section. One northbound lane was closed allowing traffic to use the two left lanes for travel.

The car was able to be driven off the interstate onto a wide section of the emergency lane.

The mishap was handled by the Tennessee Highway Patrol.

All units were able to clear the scene by 6:30 Sunday evening. There were no injuries. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-03/10/2026-6AM)
