La Follette Councilman Wayne Kitts is latest candidate to request a petition

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF) – As the summer season moves along, the election season is warming up. In fact, there here have been political ads on WLAF since February. The August General Election is Aug. 1 with the November General Election set for Nov. 5.

Monday, June 17, was the first day to pick up a petition to run in the November election, and nine petitions have been requested so far. The deadline to qualify is Thu., Aug. 15, at noon.

ELECTION INFORMATION FOR NOVEMBER 2024 RACE

November (incumbent)

The City of La Follette and the Town of Caryville have seven combined posts to be filled. Caryville will elect a mayor (Bobby Stooksbury) and three aldermen; Ward 1 (Patrick Pebley), Ward 2 (Eric Jones) and Ward 3 (Lloyd Lawson). Voters in the City of La Follette will elect a mayor (Cliff Jennings) and two council members (Phillip Farmer and Wayne Kitts). Incumbents are in parentheses.

Caryville Mayor Bobby Stooksbury announced in May that he will not seek re-election.
