LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- At Tuesday’s Rotary Club meeting, outgoing president Debbie Petree and fellow Rotarian David Hickman held a brief presentation on some of the club’s accomplishments over the past year, before turning the gavel over to new Rotary President Sharon Wilson (photo above).

Some of these included the Purple Pinkie Donut drive, which helps raise funds to end Polio.

Funds raised by the local Rotary club helped cover the cost of 3,840 vaccinations against Polio by purchasing 64 boxes of donuts.

The Rotary Club also participated in the Heart 2 Heart program, “making a difference in Mexico’ with a $250 contribution.

Other local community contributions included providing two $1,000 scholarships to Campbell County graduates Bella Lester and Isaac Jones, as well as its yearly contribution to the Campbell County Children’s Center. The 2024-2025 Children’s Center donation totaled approximately $1,436. The Rotary Club also donated $1,000 to the Ronae State Foundation, among other local contributions.
