Johnny Bruce’s name to grace Jacksboro’s Stadium as will Dino Oakes’ at Jellico High’s Gym

JACKSBORO, TN. (WLAF)- At Monday’s Campbell County Board of Education meeting, members approved to rename the Jacksboro Middle School Football Stadium as the Johnny “Coach” Bruce Stadium. School Board members also approved renaming the Jellico High School Gym from Charles Lindsay Gym to the Charles Lindsay-Dino Oakes Gymnasium.

At Monday’s BOE meeting, members approved to rename the Jacksboro Middle School Football Stadium as the Johnny “Coach” Bruce Stadium (pictured above). School Board members also approved renaming the Jellico High School Gym to the Lindsay-Oakes Gymnasium.

BOE member Ryne Cummins said he was very glad to see the gym named after Danny “Dino” Oakes “who gave his work life to the education system.”

Other board members echoed this sentiment.

Board members also said they were glad to be a part of naming the football stadium after Coach Johnny Bruce. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED 10/24/2025-6AM)
