JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- At Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting, a Campbell County School Superintendent Search Community Input Meeting schedule was approved so the public, educators and community leaders can weigh in on the school director’s criteria. This was approved unanimously.
The meeting is scheduled for January 15 at The Grand on Central in LaFollette.
According to BOE board chairman Jeffrey Miller, the schedule is listed as follows
Noon: Mayor, county commission, city council, community and business leaders and the school board
2 pm: Central Office Staff, Supervisors and Principals
3 pm: Classified Employees
4pm: Teachers
6pm: Community Forum
Miller said, “This is going to be an all-out effort to instill trust in the public in this search process.”
“January 15th is going to be a busy day, at noon, the board and there will be invitations sent out to the Chamber of Commerce business leaders, the county commission, the mayor, the mayors of the cities, to come to a luncheon and share their take on what they think a director of school’s criteria should be,” Miller said, explaining it would be a full day of getting “input from every faction of the school system and the community to see what they expect in a director of schools.
“That will be built into criteria that will go toward the applicants when applicants apply. I am going to make an all-out effort to hope everyone comes; we need a great turnout from all classified and teachers, this is your opportunity to have a say, I am looking forward to it,” Miller said.
As far as the timeline of having a new director of school’s hired, Miller said that date was May 1st. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-11/19/2025-6AM)
