JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- At Tuesday’s Board of Education meeting, members voted to allow architects Weeks Ambrose McDonald, Inc. to move forward with the bid process for the Campbell County High School Auxiliary Gym Project.
The moving forward with the bid process passed in a seven to three vote. BOE members Crystal Creekmore, Ryne Cummins and Ronnie Lasley voted no.
The school system has already invested around $62,000 into this project just with architecture, according to Board Chairman Jeffrey Miller.
This recommendation came out of the school system’s building and grounds committee, which met at the end of August to discuss the project.
At that meeting, Campbell County High School Principal Ben Foust said CCHS had almost 400 student athletes, but on top of that, the building would be utilized for all students, such as taking the ASFAB test, ACT tests, career fairs and more, adding that the school “needed more space.”
At the August meeting, BOE Chairman Miller spoke, saying the latest estimated cost of the project, as of July 30th, was “$1,882,000.” (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-09/10/2025-6AM)
