JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- At Tuesday’s Campbell County Board of Education meeting, members reviewed bids for the Campbell County High School weight room renovation project, approving Skilled Services as the lowest bidder.
The weight room renovation project received two bids, with the low bid coming from Skilled Services with a base bid of $307,000 and a total bid of $343,820 that includes alternate number one project. The other bid was from Holsten Construction and came in with a base bid of $349,000 and a total bid of $378,600.
The advertisement of bids for multiple items was approved as well. This includes lockers for Jacksboro Middle School, a lighting and sound project for Jellico High School and sanding and resurfacing of the Caryville Elementary School gym floor. It was also approved to declare solar panels from Jellico Elementary School, Jellico High School, Caryville Elementary School, LaFollette Elementary School and Wynn Elementary School as surplus and advertise bids and award to the highest bidder.

In other business, BOE members approved to increase the seating capacity from 66 to 74 passengers on bus 28 due to student count.
Board of Education members approved the Science textbook adoption committee for 2024-2025 school year, as well as the proposed school calendar for 2025-2026 school year.
