LAFOLLETTE, TN. (WLAF)- Looking for something sweet? Check out the local honey and honey products from the Blue Dog Honey Company.
The business is owned by husband-and-wife beekeepers Christi and Jesse Morris who “specialize in local honey from the Tennessee North Cumberland mountains.â€
They sell honey, creamed honey, honeycomb, lip balm, soap and honey lollipops.
Their honey and honey products can be found locally at Greenview Farms.
While they live in Knoxville, their honey farm in located in Campbell County on family property that has been in Jessee Morris’s family since the 1800s.
The company was started in 2020 by Christi Morris.
“I was in a time where I was bored. Home and work life was great, but I wanted to learn something new. I always noticed honeybees around and always heard how difficult it was to keep bees,†Christi Morris said.

She started reading and watching a lot of YouTube videos on bee keeping until she found out that her husband worked with a beekeeper, who became her “mentor.â€
“My husband joined the hobby shortly after. Before being beekeepers, we enjoyed hunting and the outdoors in general,†Christi Morris said.
They sell their honey and products in a variety of ways, including locally at Greenview Farms, as well as through a self-serve stand in Knoxville. They also sell at the Halls Farmer’s Market and the Cumberland Gap Farmer’s Market and can also meet local customers with orders in Knoxville, Lafollette and the Cumberland Gap.
The Blue Dog Honey Company sells honey, creamed honey, honeycomb, lip balm, soap and honey lollipops. The lollipops are a big hit locally and can be found at Greenview Farms.
According to Christi Morris, they plan to expand with new products in the spring.

“I am looking into selling smaller honey jars as party favors for baby showers and wedding this coming year. Bee themed parties are so popular.â€
She also said she and her husband wanted to thank customers for supporting their business.
“We are happy to provide local honey to the community. Many of us have had ancestors who kept bees, like my husband’s great grandfather. It is an honor to return to an ancient craft,†Christi Morris said.
