Bennett is officially hired as Caryville’s first administrator

Annual salary is set at $85,000

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- Almost a month later the Town of Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen has officially hired the new town administrator. In the Nov. 25 special called meeting the board unanimously approved to offer Craig Bennett the position.

Last night in a special called meeting the board unanimously approved to hire Bennett into the position.

When the board began discussing the position they decided to pay the administrator a salary somewhere between $70-$80,000 with health insurance. Bennett declined the health insurance and was offered a salary of $85,000. The tentative start date for Bennett is Jan. 20.

Prior to the start of the special called meeting Jordan Cross was sworn in as alderman. Cross fills Beth Lawson seat which was vacated when she became mayor following the resignation of David Chambers who was elected mayor last year.
