JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Scott High’s Highlanders made the trip from Huntsville to Brown Gym on Tuesday for a non-district, but rival, game with the Campbell Cougars and Lady Cougars. The Lady Cougars won the JV contest 45 to 40 followed by the Lady Cougar Varsity’s 57 to 49 victory. Scott nipped the Cougars 53-50 in the nightcap.

Scott spotted the Lady Cougars the first 14 points of the game, and it nearly looked as if the Highlanders would not score in the first quarter. But they did. Preslee Chapman was tops in the game with 23 points while Taraji Abernathy was also in double-figures with 10. Karlie Allen scored nine, eight points came from Reagan Davis, while Ellie Faulkner had three and two points each came from Addy Coleman and Lily Lloyd.

A fifteen point first half lead for Campbell slipped away as Scott fought back to have its own double-digit lead after halftime only to hold on for the close win. Hunter Dotson led three Cougars in double-figures with 14, 13 came from Jake Hatmaker and Caden Heatherly added 11. The Sexton brothers had six from Sam and three from Jack while Koalton Cupp added three.
