LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – WLAF listeners have no doubt heard Derrick Lee Anderson, better known as “The Voice.” Derrick is an on-air disc jockey at WLAF, and has been for more than 10 years.

His time at the old radio station began on January 24, 2014. Fast forward to Wed., Jan. 24, 2024, and it was a day that LaFollette Mayor Cliff Jennings proclaimed “Derrick Lee Anderson Day” in honor of Derrick’s 10th year on the air.

WATE 6 On Your Side news anchor Lori Tucker visited Derrick Lee Anderson on his 10th anniversary.

Anderson is known for his jovial personality when he walks into the station on North 5th Street, and that pleasant personality never goes away, especially when speaking into the radio mic.

DLA is on the air Wednesday and Thursday from 9am-noon and Friday from 9am-1pm. From noon until 1pm on Fridays, he hosts his famous “Derrick’s Request Time” where listeners can call in with their song requests.

Derrick notes that he always tries to “play something, say something or do something that will make someone’s day a little bit better.”
