LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF ) – WLAF is celebrating local voices with the debut broadcast of the album He Hideth My Soul: LaFollette Sing Praise, a newly released album featuring many Campbell County voices singing hymns.
The album, originally recorded nearly a decade ago at the La Follette Church of God, brings together students from Campbell County High School, Lincoln Memorial University, and multiple area churches, Catholic, Methodist, Baptist, and Church of God, alongside members of the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra.
“This was such a special evening, hearing all these voices come together in praise,” said Cormac O’Duffy, who produced the project. “The people of LaFollette should be so proud of this album. It’s truly a local treasure.”
Featuring classics such as Blessed Assurance and How Great Thou Art, the album is being broadcast for the first time on WLAF on Thursday at 1pm. O’Duffy, now based in South Carolina and often working abroad in Europe, said he is thrilled to finally share the project.
“It sounds wonderful, and it came right out of LaFollette,” O’Duffy added. “This is a very special day for me and, I hope, for LaFollette.”
