LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The LaFollette Utility Board approved a second amendment to an interlocal agreement with the county for a water line extension project at Monday evening’s meeting.
The county and LUB had previously approved an interlocal agreement for this project in September, but an additional amendment was needed due to Arthur Hill Circle being dropped from the original project specifications.
“We found out after the first amendment had been approved that Arthur Hill Circle had been dropped from the project and there was no engineering on it, so another amendment was needed,” LUB General Manager Regina Kennedy said.
County commissioners approved the amendment last week.
According to Kennedy, the water line extension project goes out to “Prebid on November 5th and out to bid on November 21st. They will be held at LUB.
Phase one of the water line extension projects include 3,600 ft. on Norman Road, 4,600 ft. on Flat Hollow Road, 2,000 ft. on Flat Land Lane, 1,986 ft. on Arthur Circle, 3,100 ft. on Flatwoods Road, and 2,900 ft. on Bark Lane.
Superintendent of water and wastewater operations Cobie Herrin was commended by the general manager and the board for “all his work” preparing for this project”. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/29/2024-6AM)
