A technician with the Knox County Bomb Squad approaches the mysterious trolley case next to the gas pump.
PIONEER, TN (WLAF) – Caution was at the top of the priority list and rightfully so when there was suspicion of a possible bomb at an Exit 141 truck stop along I-75 early Friday morning.
A suspicious piece of luggage, a trolley case, was left alone on the property of the T/A Truck Stop, and emergency personnel were called in to assess the situation.
Responding agencies included two units from the Caryville Volunteer Fire Department, a Caryville Police Officer and Chief Freddy Stagnolia, the Campbell County Emergency Management Agency and the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office. The Knox County Bomb Squad dispatched four technicians and discovered it was luggage, no bomb, someone had left behind.
The scene was deemed safe and was cleared by 2:30am Friday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 07/12/2024-8AM)
