LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- Before recent paving projects, folks literally wore out cars driving on Stinking Creek and Davis Creek Roads. Beech Street in La Follette may not be that bad, but it’s close kin. Easily the second most traveled street in the city, Beech Street has been patched beyond patching. “We had a pre-construction conference on Tuesday, and the paving project on Beech Street is gonna begin on Wed., Oct. 23,” said Stan Foust, Administrator for the City of La Follette.

The paving project runs along Beech Street from Jacksboro Pike to East Avenue. The length of the project is 1.63 miles.

“We’ve waited on this since 2018,” said Foust. The project was due to start over five years ago but got delayed due to Covid. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-10/17/2024-6AM)
