Light accumulating snow is possible late Thursday into early Friday; cold wind chills are a guarantee
LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- A taste of winter has arrived. We all felt the temperatures drop and the winds pick up on Wednesday afternoon, and those much cooler temps and cold winds stay with us through lunch time Saturday.
In the meantime, expect clouds to increase Thursday with highs hitting 46-degrees, 10-degrees below average. Some of us will see a patch of rain, maybe some snow, this afternoon. Rain, snow, freezing rain and sleet are likely Thursday night into Friday along with a low of 32.
Light snow accumulations of up to a half-inch are possible by Friday morning in the valley, mainly on car tops, roof tops and grassy surfaces. An inch to three inches of accumulating snow is possible on the highest mountains of Campbell County.
Rain and snow move out by mid-day Friday as cold winds continue blowing and temps holding in the mid-40s for highs.
Moderating temperatures arrive Saturday about the time the wind dies down. We’ll see sunshine and highs around 60 on Saturday and Sunday. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-11/21/2024-6AM)
