Veteran law enforcement officer takes over for the retiring Freddy Stagnolia

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- The Town of Caryville announces the hiring of two key staff members; Chief of Police and Town Recorder.
After a competitive selection process, Aaron Evans of Caryville was hired to be next Caryville Chief of Police. Evans has more than two decades in law enforcement and correctional institution management experience. “He will be a fine addition to the team,” said Craig Bennett, Town Administrator.
Joanie Vandagriff was hired to be the Town Recorder for Caryville. “She brings municipal experience to the position and will be a great addition to the team,” said Bennett.
Both will start in mid-March and be introduced at the next Board of Mayor and Aldermen meeting on Monday, March 9, according to Bennett. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-02/27/2026-NOON)
