A Lady Cougar win tonight will go a long way toward No. 1 seed

Powell visits Brown Gym Tuesday night for a District 3-AAAA double header

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- A win tonight for the Lady Cougars of Campbell High goes toward positioning them for a No. 1 seed in next week’s District Tournament. However, Campbell must win Tuesday night and again Thursday night for that top spot.

District meetings with Powell tonight and Central, both home games, on Thursday are the final district games of the regular season.

Powell nipped a cold shooting Lady Cougar team at Hunter Gym 42-29. That was back on January 13. Powell is 16 & 7 and sports a 9 and oh mark in the district while Campbell is 12 & 7 while winning seven out of eight district games so far.

On Monday night, the Lady Cougars ran away from the Knoxville Ambassadors 78-14.

Here’s how the nine day stretch of games breaks down for Campbell Basketball. CCHS played at Knoxville West on Fri., a Lady Cougar win; a Cougar loss. Then, this week, CC hosted the Knoxville Ambassadors on Mon. sweeping both games. On Tue., Powell visits CCHS, Knoxville Central plays at Campbell on Thu. and on Sat., CC plays at Huntsville against Scott. It will be a varsity affair only with Scott on Valentine’s Day as the Lady Cougars game begins at 4pm with the Cougars game to follow at 5:30pm.

The District 3-AAAA Tournament at Halls: The Cougars first game is Wed., Feb. 18, and the Lady Cougars first game is Thu., Feb 19. The bracket, dates and times will be released in a few days. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-02/10/2026-6AM)
