HARRIMAN, TN (WLAF) – Former Campbell Lady Cougars playing college basketball have seen their seasons come to a close as Sarah Cain-Weinburger’s career wound down as well. However, one CCHS alum, Haley Comer, is still playing this season.
Skylar Boshears Carson-Newman season wrapped up last week with a home loss in the NCAA II National Tournament. For Madison Brady and her Lady Golden Eagles of Tennessee Tech, the season closed out after losing in the second round of the Ohio Valley Conference Tournament. Cain-Weinburger played her four college years with the Bryan Lady Lions of Dayton, Tennessee. Her Lady Lions made it to the NAIA National Tournament all four of her years suiting up in the red and white and fell in the second round of this year’s tourney last weekend.
Comer, a former Campbell Lady Cougar, and her Walters State Senators are back in action this afternoon, travelling to Harriman to take on Roane State.
Walters State looks to return to the win column after having its seven game winning streak snapped last Wednesday at home. Cleveland State upset the nationally ranked Lady Senators 75-74.
Tip is set for 5:30 p.m. This is the first contest between the two teams this season. Walters State is 7 & 2 while Roane State is 4 & 4. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED – 03/17/2021-6AM)
