TOP PHOTO: LED lighting brightens up La Follette.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF) – Central Avenue in downtown La Follette from Nevada Avenue to the viaduct has taken on a new glow.

The old high pressure sodium lights have been replaced with white LED lights.  With the new lights, downtown loses its distinctive orange glow.

Many cities are making the change to the more energy efficient LED lighting.
