BOE’s search for a new director of schools takes another turn

Interim Director of Schools Nancy Lay withdraws her name from consideration for full time post

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF)- Interim Director of Schools Nancy Lay has decided not to seek the full time post of director of schools. In a letter sent to WLAF late Wednesday afternoon, Lay, one of three finalists scheduled to interview on Friday, outlined that she is withdrawing her name from consideration.

Lay cited being interim has had an impact on her and her family adding that in just a few shorts months, the stress has taken a big toll on her health.

She wishes Campbell County Schools the best and notes that there are two very capable candidates in the running. Lori Adkins-Clemons, Elementary Supervisor, Campbell County Schools, and Charlotte McCoy, Special Education Supervisor, Campbell County Schools, are the two candidates in the director of schools search. Members of the board of education will interview both candidates on Friday beginning at 10am at Campbell County High School.

Employment outlook stays strong for Campbell County

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- “We have been working with the East Tennessee Economic Development Agency and wanted to share some good employment statistics and upcoming events,” said Campbell County Vice-Mayor Randy Brown.

Brown meets regularly with representatives from ETEDA to look at labor shed employment reports and statistics for Campbell County. Labor shed is the area or region from which an employment center draws its commuting workers.
