Edna Brown Shepherd, 79, of Chattanooga

Edna Brown Shepherd, 79, of Chattanooga, Tennessee, passed away Friday, August 7, 2026, in Chattanooga, Tennessee. She was born May 24, 1947, to the late Charles David and Geneva Boshears Brown in LaFollette, Tennessee. Edna was a graduate of Jacksboro High School and received her nursing degree from Lincoln Memorial University. Her career was dedicated to helping others. She found joy in spending time with her grandchildren, sewing quilts, and making doll clothes. Edna was a member of Hickory Valley Community Church. Edna is survived by her son, Charles (Leah) Shepherd of Spring City, Tennessee, and her daughter, Andrea (Brian) Pierney of Chattanooga, Tennessee; her sister, Nancy Mills of Knoxville, Tennessee, and her grandchildren: Paddy Exum, Rosie Exum, Nevalin (Jonathan) Washburn and Gracie Shepherd; and 2 step-grandsons, Justin Tierney and Colin Tierney. A memorial service for Edna will be Thursday, August 13, 2026, at Hickory Valley Community Church, 2201 Hickory Valley Rd. Chattanooga, Tennessee, at 6 pm with Pastor Neal Wright officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday, August 13, from 4 pm until 6 pm at the church. Burial will be on Sunday, August 16, 2026, at 5 pm at Pond Cemetery in LaFollette, Tennessee.
