** HEAT ADVISORY IN EFFECT FROM 11 AM TUESDAY TO 9 PM THURSDAY **
* WHAT…Afternoon heat index values will approach or exceed 100 at times over all but the higher elevations, and some valley locations may see heat index values exceed 105.
* WHERE…Portions of southwest North Carolina, east Tennessee (Campbell County), and southwest Virginia.
* WHEN…From 11 AM Tuesday to 9 PM Thursday.
* IMPACTS…Hot temperatures and high humidity may cause heat illnesses.
* PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS… Drink plenty of fluids, stay in an air-conditioned room, stay out of the sun, and check up on relatives and neighbors. To reduce risk during outdoor work, the Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) recommends scheduling frequent rest breaks in shaded or air conditioned environments.
