The Transfer Station at the Towe String Road Convenience Center is operating like a well oiled machine.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Two fires in two years closed the garbage transfer station at the Convenience Center on Towe String Rd, Jacksboro in April. The first fire occurred in Aug. 2024 and the second fire occurred in April 2026.

In this Wednesday afternoon photo from WLAF’s Charlie Hutson, the Transfer Station was the main attraction at the Convenience Center.

Improvements to the transfer station were planned prior to the April fire.

As of Monday, the transfer station has been completely rebuilt and is back open. The upgrades to the station were made to improve safety, efficiency, and service for the community.
