The THP releases its preliminary report from Monday accident

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- A second fatal traffic accident happened in less than a week under a mile from each other. The wreck occurred not long after 9am Monday on the four lane (U-S Hwy 25W).

The Tennessee Highway Patrol investigated, and in its preliminary report, it is stated that 74 -year- old Thomas Franklin Bullock was behind the wheel of a 2006 Chrysler sedan traveling westbound, toward Caryville. The Chrysler was in lane 1, the left or passing lane, on US Hwy 25W approaching the traffic light intersection at Elkins Road.

Also noted in the THP report is that a second vehicle, a 2005 Cadillac ESV, driven by 34 -year- old Skyler Bryce McCreary, was stopped in lane 1 on the same road near the same intersection. Bullock’s Chrysler driver side tires crossed the yellow line, traveled off the left side of the roadway striking the Cadillac in the left rear, according to the report from the THP.

The Chrysler came to a final uncontrolled rest partially in the grassy median and left turn lane facing east. Looking west is where the Cadillac came to a full uncontrolled rest in both lanes 1 and 2, based on the THP report.

Bullock died while McCreary was not injured.
