Three aldermen not present at special called meeting

Town of Caryville leaders hold special called meeting

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- After being without a vice mayor since December, the Caryville Board of Mayor and Aldermen voted-in Alderman Josh Monday as vice mayor at Thursday night’s special called meeting.

Mayor Beth Lawson made the nomination with a second by Monday. Alderman Vickie Heatherly voted no, Alderman Pat Donahue voted yes, Mayor Lawson voted yes and Monday cast the final vote of yes. Alderman Lloyd Lawson, Alderman Eric Jones and Alderman Jordan Cross were absent from the meeting.

The board approved a bid for $925,400 from Select Skills Services for Phase Two of the Caryville Cares Playground. Monday explained to the board the project could come in under the bid amount by making some minor changes. Monday continued that the project has to be completed by June 30 due to the grant funding.
