LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- After 37 years in the insurance industry, 21 with Allstate and 16 with Nationwide, Dennis Powers has retired as an insurance agent, spending his last 16 years at Gray Insurance Agency in LaFollette.
Powers said, “I have enjoyed working at Gray Insurance, and it has been a pleasure working with all of my associates throughout my 16 years. I also enjoyed owning my own Allstate agency for 21 years, but now it is time to move on and spend more time with my family and focus on my job as State Representative.”

A big retirement party was held on Friday, April 10, where Powers was presented with many gifts, a cake and a luncheon held in his honor. Powers said he will continue to serve as State Representative and plans to run again in the August 6 Republican Primary. He wants to concentrate on helping constituents and working in his district, which includes Campbell, Union and Claiborne counties. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-04/14/2026-6AM-PHOTOS SUBMITTED)
