Campbell County Rural Fire Service, Tennessee Forestry Service battle fires

Crews with the Campbell County Rural Fire Service were able to contain this fire within an hour.

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF)- At 4:47pm on Sunday, Campbell County Rural Fire Service Firefighters were dispatched to the Murrayville Campground area for a report of a brushfire. When crews arrived, they found around two acres of a mostly wooded area on fire. Crews were able to contain the fire within an hour.

Campbell County was under a High Level for Fire Danger status on Sunday. 
At East Norris Point, a brush fire was contained to a half acre.

Right as crews were wrapping up the call at Murrayville, they were dispatched at 6:35pm to East Norris Point for a report of a brush fire. CCRFS Crews contained that fire to a half acre.

CCRFS Crews fought two fires late in the day on Sunday as wind, heat and dry conditions persisted.

Firefighters with the Tennessee Division of Forestry fought a wildfire over the weekend along Fall Branch Road. Forestry crews dealt with a fire on the north side of Campbell County near the Oswego community. Nearly eight acres burned in this fire that was deemed 100% contained by early Sunday afternoon.
