‘Until toxicology, autopsy reports return, we suspect overdoses’- Caryville Chief of Police Aaron Evans

CARYVILLE, TN (WLAF)- Yesterday, Caryville Police were called to the Red Roof Inn to check on a long term resident. Upon making entry into the room, two bodies were discovered.
The bodies of the long term resident, a male, along with a female were discovered Tuesday afternoon. The woman arrived on Thursday for a visit, and made contact with police on Saturday for help with a jammed door, according to one official. It’s believed that both are originally from Scott County.
“Right now this is a suspected double overdose. We’ll learn more about their cause of death and possible time of death when the toxicology and autopsy reports come back,” said Caryville Chief of Police Aaron Evans. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-04/08/2026-10AM)
