Mary Sue passed away quietly Tuesday afternoon, March 24, 2026. She is survived by her son Dennis Hutson of Kettering, OH, granddaughter Lauren (Jason) Maddox of Miamisburg, OH, and grandson Camron (Dr. Esther Hwang) Simmons of Centerville, OH, sister Marcy Nicole (John, deceased) Lay of Knoxville, TN, and many nieces and nephews including 2 very special nieces Kimberly (William) Ryan of Jacksboro, TN, and Sonja Kim-Yvette Motter of Knoxville, TN


She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 70 years, Reverend Floyd Hutson, her dearest daughter Teresa Elizabeth (Gordon) Simmons, her parents George Washington Parrott and Olivia (nee’ Pierce) Parrott, brothers Norris Parrott (Sue), Roy Gene (Mildred) Parrott, John C. (Glenda) Parrott, and sisters Jewel (Carl) Hensley and JoAnn (Edgar) Sexton.


Mary Sue and Floyd spent almost 30 years (six months a year) in Clearwater, Florida, playing golf, fishing, and continued their outreach ministries as they had in Ohio. Mary Sue was a long-time member of the First Baptist Church of Kettering.


The receiving of family and friends will be held at the Hatmaker Funeral Home in Rocky Top, TN, on Saturday, April 4, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. – 12:00 pm with the service immediately following with the interment at Oak Grove Cemetery in Campbell County, TN.
