The City of LaFollette workshop begins today at 5:30pm, at City Hall

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- At Monday afternoon’ s upcoming City of LaFollette workshop, it appears administration items take up the bulk of the agenda. The meeting begins today at 5:30pm, at City Hall.

Announcements of upcoming events begins the workshop. First is the announcement of the Easter Egg Hunt on Thursday, April 2, 5 pm. The Dogwood Trail is scheduled to open on Thursday, April 9, 10 am, The City of LaFollette Food Truck Rally is slated for Tuesday, April 7, at 5 pm and Thursday, May 5 at 5 pm, rounding out the announcements will be the Veterans Banner Dedication Ceremony in May.

Next is an event permit for The Walk for Victims Rights at Sergeants Park on Wednesday, April 22, starting at 5 pm and ending at 9 pm.

Veteran H.R. Douglas is on the agenda to discuss the Veteran’s Memorial in Caryville.

Three promotions are on the agenda. The promotion of Jonthan Norris to a full-time entry level firefighter with EMT-A effective April 18 is first, promoting Robert Cobb to a full time sergeant with the police department effective April 18 is next and finally promoting Tim Huckaby to a full time laborer in the recreation department effective April 18.

Approval to apply for an Outdoors Public Gathering grant for the Tank Springs Area ($25,000 maximum, 100% funded) is on the agenda. A solid waste grant for the public works department is on the agenda for discussion.

The final item on the agenda to be discussed is the Linden Park sports field.
