Three arrested on drug charges at a Jellico apartment

JELLICO, TN (WLAF)- Investigators with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Office made their first drug bust in five months. The arrests came from the execution of a narcotics search warrant, according to the CCSO Facebook page. On Wednesday morning, Det.Sgt. Franklin Ayers, along with other officers, executed a narcotics search warrant at an apartment at 226 5th Street at Jellico.

During the roughly 90-minute visit to apartment 501, beginning at 9:15am, investigators allegedly located multiple illegal drugs and drug paraphernalia from the kitchen to one suspect’s pants pocket to a bedroom to the bathroom. Hypodermic needles, glass smoking pipes and working scales were discovered along with Gabapentine, mushrooms, suspected marijuana and meth and some random other pills.

Three suspects were arrested and transported to the Campbell County Jail, Danny Lee Cox, Heather Moore and Alvin Walters. All three remain housed in the county jail this morning without bond.

Heading into an April 7 court appearance, Cox, 59, and Moore, 42, of the referenced apartment, and Walters, 44, of 199 Plant Lane-Jellico are all facing charges of schedule VI simple possession, possession-manufacture-deliver schedule II (meth), manufacture-deliver-sell schedule I, schedule V possession with intent, possession-manufacture-deliver schedule II drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, and manufacture-deliver-sell schedule I.

During 2025 calendar year, investigators with the Campbell County Sheriff’s Department executed only seven narcotics search warrants netting 11 arrests and conducted four traffic stops that resulted in five arrests for drugs, based on releases posted to the sheriff’s office Facebook page.
