Campbell next plays at Powell on Friday

KNOXVILLE, TN (WLAF)- What a day on the courts it was for the Campbell County Lady Cougars on Wednesday in district tennis. As uplifting as it was for the Lady Cougars to win, it was equaling as heartbreaking for the Cougars. The Cougars last match, a loss, decided the day’s outcome.
The Lady Cougars soundly won 7-2. “I’m really proud of my girls,” said Coach Rusty Fields.
Singles matches were won by Lady Cougars Adriana Pollan-Paz 8-2, Jade Higdon 8-5, Danni Hammac 8-1 and Cheyenne Duncan 8-6. Hammac and Higdon’s doubles win came at 8-4 while doubles victories were also recorded by Pollan-Paz and Reagan Davis 9-8 and Duncan and Lexi Stewardson 6-1.
“My boys lost a heart breaker. The last doubles match decided the win. We had opportunities but fell just a little short at 6-8. Will Croley 8-1, Hunter Dotson 8-4 and Braxton Fox 9-8 recorded singles wins while doubles victories went to Croley and Davide Marcosano 8-2.
