‘This is a game changer’- Jay Willoughby, Vice-Chairman of the Industrial Development Board

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (WLAF)- Thursday afternoon at the Campbell County Courthouse, a land acquisition deal that’s been in the works going on two years is complete. Local businessman Mike Malicoat sold the Campbell County Industrial Board (IDB) 235 acres of land for $10, and the deed was executed early this afternoon. The property for the Campbell County Industrial Park is across Luther Seiber Blvd. from the Collins Industrial Park off I-75 near Exit 141.

Campbell County’s next step is to acquire the funding to develop the acreage. The county will be applying for a 35-million dollar federal grant that will go toward constructing roads, putting in sewer and water along with electric. “Our office will coordinate with a consultant in working up the application through the Economic Development Agency,” said Campbell County Mayor Jack Lynch.
