The last time we paid nearly $4 for a gallon of gasoline was in July 2022

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The price of gasoline, regular unleaded self-serve, has really jumped since March 2. On that day, the price was $2.29 a gallon. The price was $3.52 on Tuesday and spiked to $3.79 overnight. The last time we were paying for a price of gasoline in this price neighborhood was in July 2022 when the price was $4.14.
So far in 2026, the year opened at $2.22 a gallon and then went to $2.21 on January 6 and to $2.29 on February 12.
Last April 29, we were paying $2.49 a gallon. Ten years ago, the lowest price in Campbell County was $1.99 a gallon on April 29, 2016.
