William Taft “Bill” Hollingsworth, a true Delaware legend, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, February 13, 2026, at the age of 66. Born on November 23, 1959, to the late William Austin Taft Hollingsworth and Velma Laverne Wright, Bill was a man whose heart was as large as his unforgettable personality.
Affectionately known to many as “Hollywood,” Bill never met a stranger and was well known for his quick wit and infectious sense of humor. He was the kind of man who would give you the shirt off his back—or his last dollar—without a second thought.
A lifelong gearhead with a fearless spirit, Bill’s sanctuary was the garage. Whether he was wrenching on a hot rod, talking shop, or popping a wheelie on a motorcycle, he lived life with high-octane energy. He took great pride in his work with the Delaware City Schools grounds maintenance team, but his greatest joy was his family.
He is survived by his children, Joshua Bauman; Justin “Buddy” Hollingsworth (Lynn Mash); Brittany (Josh) Roberts; and Jordan Durr; five cherished grandchildren, Mckenna, Jarryn, Dawson, Brylinn, and Weston; his siblings, Martin (Sheila) Hollingsworth, Johnny Hollingsworth, Nellie (Phillip) Farmer, and Anna Thibodeau; his beloved cat, Miss Kitty; and a vast circle of nieces, nephews, and friends who were like family.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, Glenn Hollingsworth.
Friends may call on the family on Friday, February 20, 2026, from 5:00–7:00 p.m. at the Snyder Funeral Center, 101 Valleyside Drive, Delaware. A service will follow at 7:00 p.m., with Pastor Eric Sapp of the New Hope Church in Delaware officiating.
Following the service, friends and family are warmly invited to share food, memories, and fellowship at: All Occasions Catering, located at 6989 Waldo-Delaware Road, Waldo, Ohio 43356.
The Snyder Funeral Homes, Delaware Chapel is honored to serve the Hollingsworth Family in their time of need.
