The Campbell County Christian Learning Center was founded more than 10 years ago

Representative Dennis Powers, seated, and Senator Ken Yager were the driving forces of the passing of several House Bills helping make CCCLC a reality.

LAFOLLETTE, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)- Saturday night, the Campbell County Christian Learning Center celebrated with its Gala, Agape, at The Stables. This gala proved to be another successful fundraiser for CCCLC.

It took a long time to get to this point with several bills and several years of legislation by Representative Dennis Powers and Senator Ken Yager.  It started with House Bill 834 in 2015. That HB authorized the local school boards to enact it.

In 2019, HB 307 awarded a half credit.

HB 2542 was passed in 2020. The bill allows transportation.

A full credit for taking a Released Time Bible Education class can be earned by students thanks to HB 696. HB 696 went into law in 2023.

“We are proud of what the center has accomplished and what is yet to come,” said Powers. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-02/09/2026-6AM-PHOTO SUBMITTED)
