Carolyn Kay Greene
September 3, 1942 – February 3, 2026
Carolyn Kay Greene, 83, passed away on February 3, 2026, in her home surrounded by her family and close family friends. She was a member of Indiana Avenue Baptist Church. Kay was a pillar of faith with a servant’s heart. From her 36-year career as a registered nurse, to her husband, children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren, she leaves a legacy of showing what enduring Faith in the Lord, kindness, and serving should look like.
Beyond her service to others, Kay shared her gifts in quieter, tender ways. Her cooking filled countless tables with warmth and togetherness. Her stories, laughter, and gentle wisdom created memories that will be treasured for generations. She lived a life marked by faith, kindness, and a deep love for her family.
She is preceded in death by parents, Huston and Lucille Hatmaker and sister Rowena Williams.
She is survived by husband of 63 years, Ronald Greene, children Rissa (Jeff) Mitchell, Rhonda (Andy) Wallace, and David (Angela) Greene, grandchildren, Matt (Sandra) Mitchell, Hailey (Joey) Liew, Jake (Laura) Wallace, Riley Wallace, Tyler (Kayla) Greene, Ally (Brandon) Hatmaker, Abby (Nick) Harmon, Skyler (Kayley) McCreary, Chase McCreary, Sydney (Brantley) McCreary, great grandchildren, Ben, Beau, Addy Kate, Eli, and Luke Mitchell, Elsie, Banner, and Charlie Liew, Ayda, Ella, and Sawyer Greene, Blakley and Addie Hatmaker, and Jaycee and Elijah Harmon, Sylas and Julian McCreary, Spencer Nichols. Very close family friends Darwin, Alice, and Christian Tinch and Matt, Leah, Natalie, and Mattie Smith
The family extends their heartfelt gratitude to UT Hospice for their compassionate care and support during her final days.
Kay’s life was a testament to love in action, and her legacy will continue to shine brightly in all who were fortunate enough to know her.
The family has held a private Celebration of Life Service.
