City of LaFollette leaders meet in workshop session

LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- The City of LaFollette has another clean audit behind it. Wednesday afternoon at the monthly workshop of the LaFollette City Council, representatives from Pugh and Company were in attendance to present their findings from the year end audit.

Three promotions will be on the agenda at next week’s meeting for the council to approve. First is the promotion of Timothy Collingsworth to full time detective sergeant, the promotion of Cheyenne White to sergeant and the promotion of Calvin Raynor to a full time dispatcher. Collingsworth has been with the department since Oct. 31, 2019, and White has been with the department since Jan. 25, 2022. All promotions are on a sixth month probationary period.

A final reading of Ordinance 2026-01, abandoning a portion of West Kentucky Ave., within the corporate city limits of LaFollette and Resolution 2026-02 pertaining to construction usage on TAP grant #2 sidewalk project on North Tennessee Avenue will be on the agenda next week as well.

In final workshop business Codes Enforcement Officer Stuart Hurwitz requested to be on the agenda for next week to speak. He is retiring March 31. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-01/29/2026-6AM)
