JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- Four members of the Campbell County High School Band have earned a spot to perform with the All-East Band, and one student earned a spot at All-State at Nashville!

Noah Campbell, Owen Dial, Jace Huddleston and Raily Marcum will be representing the CCHS Band at All-East Sr. Clinic on February 5-7th in Gatlinburg.  Huddleston earned a spot playing with the All-State Band at Nashville for the second time. The All-State event is April 9-12th, with the performance on April 12th.

“After a couple of days of rehearsal, the students will put on a concert with the best musicians from all around East Tennessee. They will spend time working with excellent conductors from across the country, we are very proud of them and this incredible accomplishment,” said CCHS Assistant Band Director Tiffany Braden.

Jace Huddleston scored high enough at his audition that he will be representing East Tennessee at All-State this year in Nashville. This is his second time attending an All-State concert at the state’s capital.

Interim Director of Schools Nancy Lay complimented band students on their “huge accomplishment” at the January School Board meeting.

“These students have achieved a great honor, and we are especially proud to recognize that one of these students earned a spot in the All-State Band, a tremendous honor,” Lay said.

According to Braden, the students put in all of the time on their audition music for All-East and All-State, “on their own.”

“They come and ask us for feedback, but they spend months preparing the music in their free time, the competition is steep, so it’s a huge honor,” Braden said.
