LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- In the true spirit of Christmas, White’s Tire and Auto gave away a Christmas Car on Saturday, making this holiday a memorable one for the car’s recipient, Holly Daniels.
Daniels is a participant in the Bridges To Recovery Program and will graduate on January 17th. Getting a car for Christmas was a “life changing event” and a great early graduation gift as well.
Bridges To Recovery is a faith based female residential addiction recovery program located in Jacksboro.

When she received her car on Saturday, Daniels was all smiles. The car is a 2011 Lincoln MKZ that the business repaired with donated parts from area auto parts stores.

Mark Weaver, who is the Managing Partner of White’s Tire and Auto, said the car giveaway was something both he and business owner Chance White had talked about and looked at doing.
“We had some vehicles that people just didn’t want to fix, and we ended up acquiring them and rather than just fix them and sell them, we wanted to give back to the community that has provided us with a place to work and wages for our families; we just wanted to give back and pay it forward,” Weaver said.

White’s Tire and Auto Shop Foreman Justin Russell donated over 15 hours of his own free service on the car, and area auto parts stores Advance Auto Parts, Auto Zone, O’Reilly’s, Classic Auto Glass, and Good Year Tire all donated parts to be repaired on the automobile.
According to Weaver, Daniels was chosen to receive the car by a group of area pastors that were tasked with picking a recipient for this first car give-away since the business already had the car “fixed and ready to go.”
“There’s a group of pastors, that meets each week for Bible Studies, and we asked them to pick the first recipient, but going forward, as we continue this mission, we will have an application process that will go before a board of people,” Weaver said.

The business plans to continue with “future giveaways to other deserving recipients.”
“This is White’s Tire and Auto’s way to serve the community that serves them. It’s about doing what’s right and giving back to the community and being the hands and feet of Jesus Christ,” Weaver said on Saturday.
