Powers serves House District 36

CAMPBELL COUNTY, TN (SPECIAL TO WLAF)– State Representative Dennis Powers (R-Jacksboro) today announced he is seeking re-election to continue serving District 36 in the Tennessee House of Representatives.
“Serving the people of Campbell, Union, and Claiborne Counties in Nashville has been the greatest honor of my life. Together, we’ve put Tennessee first and defended the Christian conservative values that make our communities strong. I’ve proudly stood for our Second Amendment rights, fought to protect the unborn, and backed the brave men and women in law enforcement who keep us safe.”
A lifelong resident of Campbell County and a graduate of La Follette High School and the University of Tennessee, Rep. Powers is a local insurance agent. He is consistently ranked among the most conservative legislators in the Tennessee House by the American Conservative Union and the Family Action Council of Tennessee.
“I’m grateful for the trust the people of District 36 have placed in me, and I look forward to earning it again in 2026,” Powers said. “We still have work to do to make Tennessee the best state in America to live, work, and raise a family.”
Rep. Powers and his wife, Tracy, have been married for 38 years and are active members of First Baptist Church of Jacksboro. He currently serves as Chairman of the House Private Acts Committee and as a member of the Calendar & Rules Committee, Commerce Committee, and State & Local Government Committee, as well as the Business & Utilities Subcommittee and the Departments & Agencies Subcommittee.
House District 36 includes all of Campbell and Union counties and part of Claiborne County.
