LAFOLLETTE, TN (WLAF)- We all know Farmer John. Whether you’ve bought produce from him at the Farmers Market or heard him on the WLAF Trading Post, you know exactly who we are talking about.

It’s not often that you will see Farmer John (R) without his cap and sunglasses. His pal, Big Josh of WLAF (L), shares a photo opp in 2019.

In this story from the past, it was written, on Wed., March 27, 2019, as Farmer John Griffith’s 85th birthday was celebrated. In a visit to WLAF, he said there was more than four feet of snow on the ground when he was born in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, (near Harrisburg) back in 1934. He said  no one was coming or going, because they could not get the door to his home open. He was delivered by a midwife at 8:30 am that snowy morning coming in at 8 pounds and 15 ounces.
