Lee Ann Sharp calls it a career in the Circuit Court Clerk’s Office

Lee Ann Sharp, left, is honored by Circuit Court Clerk Bobby Vann.

JACKSBORO, TN (WLAF)- “There’s no room for error on this job, and I’m very fortunate to have outstanding employees,” said Bobby Vann, Circuit Court Clerk. It was a bittersweet day for Vann on Wednesday in the upstairs courtroom of the Campbell County Courthouse, because Lee Ann Sharp was retiring.

Co-workers gathered to enjoy lunch and desserts and to honor Sharp in the lunch hour yesterday. “This has been a very fulfilling 10 years, very interesting and totally different,” said Sharp, who lives in La Follette.

Before the clerk’s office opportunity, Sharp taught at the Campbell County Christian Academy for 14 years. Her retirement is coinciding with her husband Ken’s retirement.

Lee Sharp has been in charge of Circuit Court, Judge McAfee’s court.

“Lee Ann has always done her job correctly. She’s so meticulous. There’s never been a complaint about her though I’ve received phone calls and email over the years complimenting her work, some even from out of state; Alabama and Florida.

Lisa Heatherly, a 19 year veteran in Vann’s office, will move over to Sharp’s position.

Sharp has been in charge of Circuit Court, Judge McAfee’s court. The judge wanted to issue an order that Lee Ann could not retire, laughed Vann.

“I’m going to attack many projects and spend more time with my two grandchildren in Kentucky. Ken and I will do some traveling, too,” said Sharp.

From all of us at WLAF, we wish you a most enjoyable retirement, Lee Ann. (WLAF NEWS PUBLISHED-12/04/2025-6AM)
