Joyce Parrott Dippel, of LaFollette

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of a wonderful wife, loving mother, and treasured sister; Joyce Parrott Dippel, of LaFollette, was born November 13, 1958, and joined heaven on November 28, 2025. She was the seventh child of seven born to Jim and Opal Parrott of Jellico, TN.

Joyce was the family’s prayer warrior and faithfully prayed for all who knew her, including the churches where she and her husband, Marty, served. She could be found dipping chili at street missions or helping with warm clothing donations for those in need. She loved serving those who were less fortunate. She was a force of nature, and in addition to her big heart, she had no problem saying “NO” when she knew something wasn’t right. At a height of around five feet, barely contained energy, she had to shop in the children’s shoe section from time to time. She had great taste in fashion that defied her size. She loved God, Jesus, and the Vols, but most of all, she loved her son, her husband, her family, and her dogs.

Joyce is survived by her husband of 49 years, Martin David (Marty) Dippel, and their son, Christopher Martin (Martin).

She was preceded in death by her parents and two older brothers, Jimmy and Jerry Parrott, as well as her in-laws, Chris and Colleen Dippel, and her sister-in-law, Shawnee Douglas.

In addition to her husband and son, also surviving are her siblings: John (Sonya) Parrott of Jellico; Jenny Begluitti of Berea, KY; Janice (Ollie) Stoutland of Oak Ridge, TN; Judy(Ron) Cooper of Williamsburg, KY, and her brother-in-law Chris Dippel, Jr. of LaFollette, TN. Joyce was blessed with lots of beloved nieces and nephews, church friends, and her loyal furry buddy, Wolfe.

Joyce battled type 1 diabetes all her life; donations in her memory can be made to the American Heart Association or the American Diabetes Association.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date.
